Rubicon Unlimited lift issues

I am in the middle of lifting my brothers two Rubicon Unlimited LJs and wanted to find out how others have solved a problem I am having. Both of these have auto trannies and transmission pan skid plates. With the lifts on and articulating the left front tire down the driveline hits the tranny skid plate mounting arm. Has anyone else had this problem and if so how did you fix it ? Shims under the skid plate mounting plates ? or did you cut the offending bracket off and change it to get more clearance or is there an aftermarket skid plate that works better ?
Thanks for any suggestions.

On my dads 03 Rubi we put in some spacers for the tranny skid and notched it. However, the skid plates on the Rubis hang ridiculously low and he gets hung up on everything we we are on the trails. There are plans in the future to get a belly up type skid to fix this. I personally like the one from Nth Degree the best.

For what it's worth, I just tossed mine. Once you're lifted, the tranny pan isn't much of an issue. Plus, there was no really good way to reuse it with the RE long arm kit.

On my 04 TJ I ahd the same problem, infact it was so bad I couldn't even get the driveline hooked back-up at ride height. I tossed mine as well.

I'm not having trouble with the main belly pan but the extra transmission skid plate that is in front of it.

For driveline clearance you will only have problems with the tranny pan. We just notched it since my dad didnt like the idea of not having something to protect his tranny. Even with spacers on the skid he never even hits hits the skid. However, the main skid is a completely different story. Once out on the trail you will be wishing for a main skid plate that doesnt hang down so low I would imagine.

I'm sure they will want to look at a better belly pan down the road but after just putting out the cash for the jeeps and the lifts their wallets are smoking and will have to cool down a bit. I'll look at notching the plate since I know they want some extra tranny pan protection.

Thanks for the input everyone.

That is what we are looking at too. Lifts are expensive as hell, let alone adding another $600+ for a skid (the Nth degree one w/ auto skid). Far as I could tell Nth is the only company to offer an atuo skid w/a belly up type setup. $$$ is the same reason that we notched it rather than getting the tummy tucker. It is in the plans, but who knows when those plans will happen. I guess as soon as we stop pulling him off of things that he gets high centered on.
