Ruger 10-22 Additions

I wasn't able to use my scoped 10-22 last weekend for bunny blasting due to no sights, other than the scope. The rifle has a thick Kimber fluted bull barrel on it with no provisions for sights. The scope rail that was on the rifle was boogered up by my litte brother, so I started with a new picatiny rail.

I then added a Buck Mark red dot style sight. I wanted something inexpensive that will work well for the 20 or so time it'll get used per year.

I also picked up a sling since I don't have one, and this 10-22 is not light. I went for Blackhawk's 3 point modular sling. What I really like about this sling is that it is able to adapt to nearly any rifle/shotgun.

Headed to Impact Guns this evening to run the new red dot.. This style of sight is hands down the best $35 I've spent on any firearm.

Once sighted in.. Here's 20 shots @ 22yds:

Is this the point and shoot gun sight???

Point and shoot? Wouldn't all sights be considered as such? If you are referring to a laser, then no, it is not a laser. The benefits to this style of sight is that you can easily shoot with both eyes open, aquire your target very fast even when on the move.

Maybe he means the kind of sight that no matter how you hold the gun or where you look if the dot is on the target it will the intended mark. Like a holographic sight?

Now go shoot with you brother in law and get him using his new 10/22:)

Ya Jack, I can snap a photo of where I want the bullet to go, then hide behind an object and fire the gun in any direction; the bullet is guided by satellites to hit the predetermined target.

Newest addition, is a BATH!

I've neglected this 10/22 to the point that I was chiseling out packed powder residue from several areas of the rifle. I put on the movie 'Shooter', and went to town..

The sky is the limit on the Ruger. I like to take mine to the range a lot, but out in the bush they are definitely fun. My 3x9 doesn't help to much when trying to track moving objects but if I'm lucky to find them first it's a done deal.
