how bad would it be if were to run one 265/70 16 and one 265/75 16 in the rear of my runner with a locker in moab, i would drive down on the same size but i have three a/ts and 4 highways so i want to run as many a/ts as possible while rock crawling.

thanks guys!

The one is an inch smaller than the others. My tires aren't all equal and I don't notice any problems. If the a/ts is new and the highways are worn then they are practically the same size. Only problem I see is that I would notice that yours tires aren't the same and I'd point my finger at you.

I've heard that it does work on your diffs and t-case due to the difference in circumference. I'd like to hear the tech side of it too.

Run the mis-matches on the axle that does not have the locker. That will avoid any un-nessesary binding that will happen on the axle with the locker

What he said. The differential should be able to take up the difference in rotation (like turning a corner constantly :D) but with the locker, you'd be much more likely to have binding issues.

ahh this does make sense... the bigger tires are new and the smaller ones are about 3/4's to 1/2 tread, so the new ones are bigger. i was thinking if i had two good grips up front and one good and one alrigt in the rear the locker would make up for if the highway slipped.

hmm but right now i have the two rears bigger, just to see what it was like and its not bad 4runners like to sag back there anyways lol its hard to tell they arent that aggressive of an alterain they are mitchelens. so they look close and the rims are exactly the same.

I had to go do a rescue Late late one night up af canyon last year but had blown a tire that night also and so i put on smaller tires up front just to get up there and get them out. It ended up putting a major bind on my t-case and entire front end. I was lucky it was really muddy but in the dry spots it was catching and not sounding good at all when in 4x4. I lucked out but would not do it again but it was an emergency that night
