Can anyone recommend a shop that is a little lenient up north? I just picked up a 2004 wrangler with 33x12.50 tires with stock flares. I have Teraflex mud flap kit so will have those but don’t want to add bigger flares till the spring. It’s a rubicon so has the wider factory flares but tires hang past them.

My son just had his TJ inspected and they said the mud flaps were no longer required. His is sitting on 35's with sock flares. You should be fine.

Just fyi - I have one expiring in December - I called the DMV and the person said I still need to have safety done this time even if I wait till March 2018 to register the vehicle - cause its required for 2017. After this one - not needed

Yeah, but where it's a new purchase to him and it would be his first registration he *could* wait if he wanted and just register it January '18 and he wouldn't need a safety. But he'd have to wait to drive it.

For every non-commercial vehicle. (Company vehicles over 10,000 lbs will still need inspection)

But that's safety only, emissions testing will still be required as normal.
