I think that might be possible too, but getting that seal out might be an ordeal without pulling the spanner nut off of the input.If I remember right when I did mine (I might be wrong) but to change the input seal you don’t need to loosen the spanner nut, I think all you have to remove is the internal C-clip. Again, I could be wrong, I just don’t remember removing that washer with a spanning wrench.
Check the OD of your new seal to see if it’s way bigger than that C-clip hole or not and that will confirm or deny my theory.
