I would love to take a closer look at your portable doors some time. As well as a once over of your rig, very beautiful rig.

The current owner of this 4runner has finally surfaced. He came across photos of the 4runner over on ExpeditionUtah.com, and started inquiring as to who had owned it. I dug up trip reports and videos to send him, and thought that I may as well post them in this thread, for posterity. I miss this truck several times a week, but it's good to know that it is still out there being used. The photos that the current owner posted on ExUt show that it doesn't look much different than the day I sold it.

Some vids
Rattlesnake
Poison Spider MesaPritchett Canyon
Waynes World (Constrictor)
More Waynes World - This may explain why the driverside slider was bent a bit ;)
More WW slider bashing
Up Bump Dump
This will explain some damage on the passenger side
Potato Salad Hill

Like mentioned over on ExUT, the current owner is a good buddy of mine. I assumed it had been around, based on the stickers and the level of build, but didn't realize it's full history.

At any rate, the owner is my most frequent wheeling buddy, I'll have to see what kind of pix I have loaded up on the net already and add them here.

I'm certain that your pix and vids will be very useful to him in convincing his wife that it deserves MUCH more trail time (and trail extremeness) than it currently gets.

Oh. Hell. Yes. :greg:

I didn't build it. A guy by the name of Cody built it to more or less be the most capable show truck around. He meticulously built the 4runner, with the help of Matt Ballard for the custom body work (that I smashed up a bit). I got home from 2 years in Florida, and Cody was putting the truck up for sale. He invested over $12k into the build, sourcing the cleanest interior parts he could find, and building everything himself. He'd drive it around his neighborhood on weekends and occasionally tow it to Moab to putter around Dump Dump, but didn't seem to ever use it to its full capacity. Then I bought it and put it through weekly torture tests. :)
