So I have been a fan of the UTV's for some time. I can have fun Rock Crawling in them, Run the desert in them, do fun mountain trails in them and honestly in my old yj it seemed out on the trail if I wasnt broke some one else was where in UTV's we have 100 plus mile rides all the time with rarely anyone has issue. I think of them as the dirt bike of 4 wheels and a steering wheel.

BUT I found these on another site and really like them. thought I would share. I would see me rocking on of these.

I've wondered about a 2 door tracker and keeping the IFS... tweak it for 32-33" tires, remove much of the sheetmetal and have fun!

I think I camped kinda close to this guy at Lake Powell last summer. We were marveling at how much money was thrown into a Samurai, without actually increasing it's ability to drive in the sand. The big single light in the middle of the skidplate, pointing at the ground, is what tipped me off. :) Fab work looked nice....

I really dont see a ton of money, No more then if you were building it traditional style... couple of shocks, 120 ft tube, couple sheets of aluminum, 4 wheels and tires. I dont know, it all kinda seems like stuff you would buy anyway. I do agree with the silly HID pointing at the ground... what where they thinking with that one.

ive got a brother inlaw in the pheonix area wanting a utv so bad. My reasoning against a utv with him is that you could find a running samurai for $900 plus and put about $3k into it and it would out perform the utv and you could flat tow it anywhere(may be able to with the utv but ive never seen it).

Out perform it doing what? IMO anyone that thinks a Sami with $3k in mods will outperform a SxS is in denial. The Sami may crawl better, but even that is a stretch. I'd love to see a Sami built with $3k take on just about any performance SxS in some whoops... or on any high-speed course... or anything bumpy & rocky.

Not trying to be a jerk, but you have to be realistic. They are very different vehicles with suspensions that are worlds apart, a built Sami may be able to go the same places a SxS could, but it's going to do it in a very different way.

I love to day-dream about a modded IFS Suzuki but honestly I wouldn't expect it to keep up with a SxS like the Arctic Cat Wildcat.

yup no way a 3k sami would do better..

but how about this.. my neighbor has 30k into his rzr that he races.. i bet if you got a side kick for 400$ ( i got my last one for free) and put 29600$ into it it would out climb and out ride the side kick through the bumpy stuff..

it was awhile ago when i was talking to him maybe a year ago but at his recent race his top speed was only 64 mph . i know he's done alot since to go fast but yeah..

for the price of a built racing side by side i'd rather have something else

but i agree that brandon is in suzuki denial ..i love suzuki's but im starting to realize they are not the vehicle for many..

Wow this what controversial pretty quick. Samurai would have a hard time out performing a long travel side by side in most applications. But that really wasn't the point of posting these pictures. I could see me getting a little samurai doing some spring under action with big febder cutting and 31 inch tires building a cool drop top cage adding a windshield frame and having a cool little beater that is street legalish for my boys and I to play in.

I know a lot of you guys on the site hate you UTVs just for the sake of hating them. That's okay with me I just thought the samurai's had some cool style.
