Not sure yet, I'm kinda slow at planning this trip. I should have a better idea by tonight. Sorry i don't have it all together yet, this entire area is new to me, and I'm trying to bring info from about 20 sources together to plan this trip. I'm sure my second trip out there will be a lot better organized.

I understand that. I am bad at planning trips. MY trip planning usually consists of lets go to the swell.....the end. My wife loves the swell so she is hoping we can make this one.

I'm going to try and make it. I'll likely bring my truck (just because I want to try out the shell), so any sort of 'wheeling' is out of the question for me. I'd be interested in hitting the southern swell after night one for sure.

Fwiw as of this weekend the trail down into Eagle Canyon from both the Swasey side and the north side had ~6" of snow on it and was extremely icy (remember our icy trip there in '06 Greg, it's similar to that). While its totally passable its not something I would do with a large group or with full-size vehicles. It could get more snow or it could melt off and be bone dry, hard to say...

I do remember that trip, my first real trip into the Swell! That was a great time, but I'm pretty sure we weren't EXPO'ing, but just camping. :D

Your wife is basically evil though.

Just because my wife wants to give all hobos free barrels to have camp fires in doesn't make her evil. My wife is quite nice actually, and she loves to camp.

Just because she was going to use cardboard barrels and then laugh at the hobos as the cardboard barrel burned to the
ground doesn't make her evil. Mean, funny, insensitive, maybe.....evil.....no.

I want to go bad!!! I promise that I will go with you sometime. I can't make it this time though. I have always wanted to explore this area. This summer I would like to see some trips out that way. Thanks for keeping me in the loop Steve!

Here's the plan for Thursday night. According to my travel guide book, this puts us right at the wedge overlook for camping Thursday night.
