San Rafael

Just returned from a weekend near Goblin Valley. Drove Hans Flat Road out to Horseshoe Canyon and drove Temple Mountain Road. Hans Flat was very muddy and had 6 inches of snow covering it that made it very interesting. There was as much as a foot of snow on the plains especially on the north facing hillsides. Temple Mountain Road was fun with the snow and muddy conditions. There was 18 inches of snow on top of the mesa. The conditions were tough, but passable. The side roads that would normally be the destinations for 4 wheeling were nearly impossible. Driving these "graded 2 wheel drive roads" in these conditions were fun and got rid of the cabin fever for a few weeks. It was worth the long drive from Colorado.
