sand blasting a flywheel

if a flywheel is alittle rusty. Would it ok to sand blast the surface? Would this effect the clutch in anyway?

Ummmm...just have it resurfaced. Most places only charge 10 bucks or so....

Even if it wasn't rusty, you would want to have it resurfaced anyway.
