My brother has that HF one with a BIG air compressor and it works very well. I don't think my 40 Gallon sears compressor would work nearly as well.

I have this sandblaster http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_12605_00916706000P
It works ok, but it is very slow when combined with the 40 gal compressor, even when I borrow a second compressor two compressors can't pump enough air to keep me from being frustrated. I would concider the sears one a "hobby" grade.

I have used that one and it liked to clog a bit but I did not use it much. Could have been less than dry air. We also had to fiddle with the adjustments and IIRC it would have benefited from a needle valve in place of one of the ball valves to help regulate the air flow down. I believe we needed less dynamic pressure on the hose than was on the pot. We got it to work with the ball valve but a needle valve would have been better. Sorry, that probably isn't much help but it is all I know.

I have the HF one and it works OK as long as the air is very dry. As soon as it get the least bit moist I have to shake while using it. The valves also didn't last long.

Hey guys,
I have a startup website that I would love this kind of information on. It only takes a second to review something you purchased.

Even if you only review one item, it will help everyone.

Mods, not trying to advertise, just asking these guys to help. Hope thats ok.

I used one of my friends HF one, not the one you posted, but a full cabinet. It worked, but was still a pain. Like the others it seemed to clog every 5 seconds then you spend 10 seconds fixing it and repeat. I don't think I could have done it any other way, I just wish it was 10 times faster

I borrowed that exact one from a friend to sandblast 4 rims. My compressor wouldn't keep up (110 volt) I worked good for about the first minute after the air compressor was a full pressure, then it slowly got worse until I stopped and let it catch up. I used 3 bags of sand ($10.00 each?). The actual tank worked quite well - it never clogged on me once. The guy I borrowed it from paid $50.00 - I guess he got it on sale. It obviously made a big mess.

Thanks for the replies. I have also been reading about this blaster on other sites. All have the same issues and some offer solutions. Adding another air drier is a must. Some sites offer valve adjustment options so it can run more efficiently. One guy ran his supply air line through copper tubing and into a 5 gal bucket of ice water to cool the air thus keeping it from getting warm and creating moisture.
