Ok, I got an ipod for Christmas. I need music for it now. I have looked at a lot of sights that for a one time fee let you file share. Their way of getting around copy right infringement. So which one to use? Pros and cons to these sights? School me, cause I'm clueless! And Want to fill all the gigs of memory up.:D
Thanks, Phil

there is a site that you can download anything for free, but i dont know how legal it is. I use limewire. you can just copy whatever you want to download from limewire into itunes and then to your ipod.

ah 18k? you mean 18gig? even then thats not a lot of music.as for limewire its nothing but playing Russian Roulette .it might not happen right off the bat but you will get a virus sooner or later

The simplest is use a site that's pay per download, I use www.mp3search.ru it's about $0.15 per song. This way it's not peer-to-peer so you don't have to rely on other people having the song and being online and it being good quality and it being the actual song you want like with limewire or those other services that are similar. They have their own servers and everything that's on there is available anytime and I've yet to get anything that's even questionable in quality.

So, basically what I'm getting is if I use a file sharing site, then I'm gonna get virus's at some point? If I use a pay per as Caleb suggested then I won't and will get better quality music. Sorry for the dumb questions, I'm totally electronically challenged.:D

for the most part yeah. You can still get good quality music from peer-to-peer but you will most likely at some point get a virus from it, also it's very common to download one song and get something entirely different (like not a song at all). I like the pay-per sites, but they don't always update the quickest. If it's a brand new song they may not have it, in that case I go to either iTunes and pay $1 for it or I go to the limewire, etc, services to get it. Bit Torrent, for the most part, sucks for individual songs and, IMO, isn't a ton better for albums. Bit Torrent is great if it's well seeded, but it has to be seeded to be worth your while.

You never know what you are going to get from peer to peer. You may get high quality stuff, you wil probably get lower quality stuff, misnamed files, bad files, spam, blah blah blah.

What he doesn't know is that all 18,000 songs of Brett's are techno garbage that all sound the same.
