So the geologist stopped by today with some goodies for me, as promised last time I was up here.

Two chunks of honeycomb from his bees, and a jar of chokecherry syrup.

MMMMM MMMM GOOOD!!!

EDIT: if anyone on here has bees, I am a freak for homegrown honey. :D

The geologist has bees?? My family has had a small honey company since before I was even as high as a bee knee :) More or less a hobby of dads, but it is kind of cool to see the process.

Where's that Halliburton hat?-_-

Still working on it. The last 5 Halliburton trucks have been devoid of hats. :(

The guys SHOULD be here this week, but the way this crew is drilling (ie, they aren't), I am not hopeful that I will see them this week.

As this has turned into a ridiculous quest, naturally I can't stop until I get one. I once looked for a rare exhibition catalog for over 10yrs... but I got one. Fret not, Frenchie. Ye shall have yer hat. :D

One of my dad's tree customers growing up had bees, we ended up with close to 300 pounds of honey over the years. No sweetener tastes better to me!

While I was in the Navy I new a girl in the Philippines who's family grew peanuts and had bee's.
When we stopped there she'd give me a gallon jar of peanut butter mixed with honey, like a gallon of Reeses filling:D

We used to do all kinds of things with honey, my favorite was mixing it with peanut butter and coconut and just eating it that way!!
