scrambler help

Started redoing my scrambler 5 years ago. Now putting it back together. Got a part I don't know what it does. Its a piece of 1/8 inch angle that mounts on the frame cross member that is just behind the gas tank.

1 1/2 x1 1/2, 3 feet long with four holes in the top.

I had the same part on my scrambler but didn't re-use it since I have a custom tank in mine.

If I rember right from both my old scramblers it holds the gas tank in place...
