I thought Ferrari only sold those to experienced Ferrari owners.... I think I remember reading that you got a sort of 'intro to Enzo" course at some local track, too.... could be wrong about that though.

FYI unofficially from a trooper that was on scene that I actually talked to stated that the Enzo was traveling 212mph. Believe it or not, but thats what was told to me from him.

they say he was traveling 100+ there was nobody aroung to clock him .they were judging by the wreck.they road they closed for doing this one was a rather rough road so at 100+ you would be suprised what can happen.combine that with a person who has no business being behind the wheel of suck a vehicle then you can guaranty this will happen to it give half a chance.

having money and being able to purchase such a machine doens't make you eligible for hitting the top mark of it.

The driver of that vehicle is a fantastic driver. He has one mulitple SCCA races as well as many Ferrari sponsered races. He was NOT and amature driver. It funny that people automatically assume that because he crashed he was an ass hat driver. Professionaly race car drivers crash too.

And FYI, he was actually doing around 200 MPH when he crashed, the vehicle rolled 7 times and he suffered some broken vertibrate and ribs, broken thumbs and is recovering in a hospital.

I agree. Were there any other drivers in the race reaching these speeds on this section of road? There are very few sections of road in Utah smooth enough for those speeds. With a firm race suspension at 200+ most roads would feel like you were racing the Baja 500.

Get your thumbs out of the steering wheel!! That is the first thing they teach you in ferrari wrecking school isn't it?

no but that is the first thing they teach you at any driving school.so for a person has one multiple SCCA races it would seem he still has lots to learn about driving at higher speeds.i try not to drive with mt thumbs in the wheel even when driving on the street or wheeling fort just such reason.

i don't believe i ever called the man an asshat but it would seem he was well above his limits and properly reading the road ahead of him.granted this was all for a good cause but i stand by my statement it was to much for him.now am i saying i could of handled such a car on such a road and at the speeds he was going no not really.i drove some SCCA races back home in my little VW Rabbit GTI .granted it wasn't traveling above 150 mph .
