Searching for brackets

Where is the best place to get brackets from?

I am looking at getting a dana 44 in the front, but for now need to keep the stock suspension, so I need to keep the general geometry of the arms/Pan-hard Bar.

Where would the best place be to get the brackets for the best bang for the buck?

I second the Ruffstuffspecialties. Best prices and services is unmatched. They also do not skimp when it comes to materials!

Anyone heard anything about
http://www.ballisticfabrication.com/
or
http://www.polyperformance.com/shop/

Between the two of those sights I have found every part I need, (as Far as Suspension goes) and upgrading to a long arm lift it will come out to ~$1000 (including shipping)

Ballistic Fabrication has gotten a real bad rap here lately. I will admit that it has been somewhat deserved as well. Parts have not shipped on time and orders have been delayed way longer then they should have been. There was customers that had been told their parts had shipped and had not. It sounds like they are getting the problems sorted out but, take your chances. Poly Performance is a good company. One that I have ordered from in the past and would not think twice about doing it again.

UNSTUCK

But stuck more often.
I speak for myself when I say I'm 1 for 1 with Ballistic. It was a few years ago that I used them, but I was very happy with them. Look hard enough and you can find good and bad reports about any fab company. I think any of the above name companies will take care of you just fine.

Is ~1K a reasonable price for everything to install 2 axles, with an aluminum 4 link front?

When I did mine it took about $2,500.00 for everything. Brackets, joints, jam nuts, inserts, tubing, and bolts. It is the little things that will kill your budget. I think I had about $300.00 just in bolts and hardware. $1,000 sounds a little cheap to me but, I did use big parts.

Ballistic has a reputation for blatantly ripping off people's designs. In at least one case, they jacked ad copy word for word as well.. supposedly that's in the past.
I won an axle giveaway from them, and they have been fine about it so far... knuckles have been sitting on the table here for a couple weeks now, and the axle itself is about 10days overdue, but with explanation... supposed to be here by Wednesday. We'll see. :D

Hey I'm planning out the front suspension. Im thinking of going with a 3 link w/Panhard, Only thing is where would be the best place for the upper control arm to mount to the front axle? I know with a 4 link they would be near the stock locations, but with a 3 link do I just delete 1 arm? or do I center it more to handle the strain from the missing 4th link?

So any input on a 3 link for an xj?
i have heard about diving under breaking, but have heard the closer to center you mount the 3rd link the better. I haven't found any reference to a 3 link on an xj. (Most I have found are on yotas.)

I'm basically looking for the best place to mount the upper link (3rd link) on the axle, and the best place to mount them all on the "frame" (by frame I'm referring to the sheet-metal)

Would it be best to replace the transmission mount and incorporate brackets on said mount to link the axle (as most companies that offer a lift for the xj do?)

When I came in the other day you quoted me over 4K to install the 44 & 60..
About what would the 3 link for a 96 xj run?

Yeah they can make pretty much anything anyone wants, I just don't have that big of a budget.

I'll add my 2c.

If I were building unit body rig, and didn't have much fabrication experience, I would definitely spend the extra money to have a qualified shop build proper frame brackets. It's not as easy as it seems once you get under there;)

Lastly, I've had pretty decent luck with ballistic.
