I think he is spot on except for the part where he initially wanted to require/force everyone to own a gun. Apart from that, I applaud his efforts to realize that his town would be safer with most people being trained and armed. Hopefully it encourages other people to think about arming themselves.

Agree, I do not like anything mandatory. I think proposing a bill that strongly encourages and then protects your city/town citizens is a GREAT idea.

I wish more places would do this and not the opposite. The more I learn about firearm laws, the more I love the State of Utah. Sure, there may be some things I still do not know, but I am really trying to make an effort to become much more educated on this topic.
