I can't get my shower to work in my house. I am not very savvy on the home improvement and need help figuring out how to make it work. You activate the shower by pulling the little rod up from the top of the faucet but I can't pull the rod up. It just happened yesterday. What can I look for so I can fix it?

It looks like the faucet on the bottom of the pic

That rod is attached to a little plastic piece that has a rubber oring on it, when you pull it up, it blocks the outlet and forces the water to the shower head. What has most likely happened is, the rubber piece has start to come off the plastic piece and jammed the whole thing up. get a flash light and a small scewdriver. Lay in the tub and look up in there, you will see it, just push it the rubber back into place with the screw driver. Our old one used to do the same thing once in a while....I found if I pulled up on the rod before I turned the water on, it would not try to spit the rubber piece out....

Hope you can understand some of that....

I had this same problem 2 days ago, it got harder and harder to pull up until it felt like I was going to rip the faucet off the wall. I shot some WD-40 down the shaft and it now moves slicker than crap. (Hard water)
