Silver Lake - AF canyon

There has been talk of a book...

Lots of it :D

I am happy to say I'm making progress. I presented on American Fork Canyon at the Historic Mining Initiative Conference in Park City earlier this summer, it urged me to get back on the project and also netted me some new leads. One day.

That picture is somewhere you can't go, the now closed Pitsburg Lake Trail.

I was thinking the same thing as I was looking at that pic, (PBL one of my favorite camping spots)

kurt, yesterday I was up checking out the mines, that are up the canyon from tyngs grave. what are the names of those mines?
Also at the end of the canyon where the road turns into single-track, how far does that single-track go?

Lots of individual mine names (Wyoming, Bredemeyer, Orion, Kalamazoo, etc) but collectively they are know as the Miller Hill Mines and much of the land was leased by Tyng leading up to his death.

The single track takes up back up to the ridge between the two sides of Miller Hill.

hey thanks! I figured thats probably where it went

hey Kurt, any idea on an ETA for the book?? I'd love to have one, and about every month at some point I think to myself, "I wonder if Kurt has that book done yet!?"

at least a rough draft that we can make photo copies of to hold us over until the final shiny book comes out?? :D

ETA... 1-10 years. Rough drafts, maybe. I have some of the trail guides done, I'll have to check with my peeps on releasing that.
