SL County Controlled Burn?

Anyone know if I can do a controlled burn in my backyard in Magna? I'm told by my BIL that 3x3' is ok, but it's been nearly 8-10 years since he was a firefighter.. I've got some large piles of ,aterial (grasses/weeds/etc) that will be easier to burn than truck off.

Call it a campfire and keep it small and you don't need a permit...

pretty sure burn permits don't apply to as dense an area as you live in. I know they are verboten in Tooele County... at least that's what the nice officer told me.

Reading that it looks like there is another law that regulates Salt Lake, Utah, Davis and Weber counties. That rule applies to all the other counties in UT. The one we need is R307-303. A quick search yielded me no results.

Looks like this rule would mean that you would have to wait a while for a permit Jason:

The 30-day open burning period must occur between March 15 and May 30
