Smaller Toy Haulers...Do they Exist?

I guess I'll need to hear one run first. In my mind I was just hoping it would be as quiet as the 2000's. I have read a bunch of reviews and forums that have said they will power the ac and the microwave together. But maybe I should look up specs of each. Good point on the gas though.

65db vs. 59db for the 2000i, that's a fair bit of difference in noise levels. Not sure what the 3000iS is, but it's rated at 58db...so even quieter than the 2000i...but it does weigh 134lbs. That will be a pain to move around yourself.

I should also look at the Yamaha quiet generators. The Yamaha EF3000iSE is rated at 53-60 db. So about the same as the honda 2000i. And they have wheels and a handle on each side for 2 people to move. I can just roll it in and out on my toy hauler ramp too. ;)

Sorry, still haven't gone out and taken inventory of my directv stuff. Will a 3000i run your AC? Also, something nice about having two 2000s instead of one larger is 90% of the things in your trailer only need the 2000 or smaller, that means you can run just a single 2000 most of the time and fire up the second only when you need to run your AC, microwave, etc. Saves on fuel, but more importantly, on noise, which is nice when the little one is sleeping or you're in close quarters with other campers, you'll be appreciative when your neighbors have a nice quiet generator.

I have an onboard 5500 watt generator and 90% of the time I am running my 2000i. I don't see the need to put hours on my big generator for the kids to watch movies. I am looking into a solar set up with inverter that would run the basic things we use on that without the generator.

Exactly, if I kept my trailer (or when I get another) that will be my next step, get a solar setup.

The 2000 doesn't run the ac though does it? I'm sure it can run it but not start it.

That's why you hook the two up together. Only run the one 90% of the time, and then on occasion kick on the second to start the AC.

Oh, I know. That's what we've always done with my in laws trailer. Maybe I'll look into solar also. Does the solar store so you can run the ac or heat off it at night?

Except a diesel is in order. I don't like running such high rpm's for hours in the wind or uphills. But i like keeping speed. Amber gave me the go ahead on a diesel last night if we can agree on one we both like.
