It actually has lift springs on it right now, I think they are 4" Pro-comps on the rear, and factory rears up front.

Do Pro-Comps count as an 'upgrade'? (I'm not Toyota savvy, so I don't know, but I've not been impressed with most of their Jeep stuff I've seen/used or their tires.)

Well from what I have seen so far,,, no they are not an upgrade!

I am thinking that I am going to pull another leaf out of them so there will only be 2 leafs, but the ride should hopefully be better and more flexible, and as soon as they are totally flat and worthless (which shouldnt be too long) I will buy some better springs :D

Springs or shocks, if so though them in the garbage and start fresh. These are Alcan Orbit Eyes definetly worth the $$$.

Greg what springs are you running? Marlins?

I will buy springs in the future, maybe 1-2 months, but I am looking for something I can do now.

All Pro, 3" lift, longer than stock... got the rears used from here, bought the fronts at All Pro in person. )Their shop was 10 min away from where we lived in SoCal.) IMO all the All Pro/Marlin/Trail Gear springs are the same. And you can get a full set pretty cheaply. And they run tall, too. 3" will easily clear 35's, especially with slightly longer shackles (3/4" lift).

I had a set of Pro Crap springs once....

Ok thanks, I have been wondering about how tall my truck was, I have 33's and they seem to clear fairly well. I was a bit worried about ordering springs only to find out that they didnt give me the same amount of lift

if you get your springs too low there are a lot of ways to solve it. in order I would:
1. fender trim
2. add a thin leaf from the bone yard
3. longer shackle
4. body lift
If you get them to high then they are generally not as flexy, have more axle wrap, and obviously your breakover angle has increased.

for reference I fit 39.5 tires with 6" lift (including shackles) I trimmed the rear fender, and the fronts could use some minimal trimming, but I usually leave front fenders at home...

You will have to have a custom drive shaft (longer slip yoke) as well as do something different with the steering (expecially if its the factory "push pull" style) which costs $$$ if you run any of the springs mentioned above.

Trail Gear 3" springs - $200 can't affort not to buy them if you ask me :D

I am planning all of this stuff,,, thats why I won't be buying springs for a few months, because it will all be going on at the same time. :greg:

Well I got out the cut-off wheel and the welder this weekend and moved my shackle hanger forward 2" and built some 6.5" shackles for the old Yota. The ride is so much better! Not bone jarring at all, and when aired down to about 10 psi, it rides great offroad. Now I just need to get some better shocks and cross-over steering for the front.

The first picture shows my new shackle angle, which is about 55* and the other picture is of my MASSIVE flex.
