Larry Olsen and I headed out to the "snake" trails. We planned to meet at the trailhead about 11:13, but we got there a lot closer to noon due to my ineptness. Details here http://www.marbryson.com/01-01-08snakes.htm

Here's a couple pics. We had some RME'rs follow/lead my broken junk out. Maybe they'll post up some pics.

Hey Mark, I noticed that your military raps don't have the gap between the first and second leaf (on the round part)..... I just talked it over with Badger and the consensus is that the wrap being tight didn't let the leaves move independently, thus put more stress on the main leaf. That added to the fact that they didn't make new mains for you....

So they should have the little spacer like in the below picture? I thought that was just for noise, but I really don't know. That's good to know if that's the case. I'm super knowledgeable in the ways of the leaf spring. I never had near this much trouble with my XJ springs in my XJ.

Yeah, too bad it's not a military wrap. :D

Should be wrapped all the way around, not 1/2 way like they did that one.

That is what I thought I'd end up with.

Yup. And what you did have shouldn't have straightened out so easily after the main leaf broke. I would defiantly go back on them.

Edit: I missed the er in your question, that is partially for noise. IIRC from seeing your wraps the second leaf is tight against the main, there is supposed to be a gap like there is in the pic Tacoma posted.

We are also finding problems with spring-overs on stock weight or lighter vehicles that are used for rock crawling. When the vehicle is put in a very steep uphill climb, it puts all the weight of the vehicle on the rear axle. In most cases, this will bend the front half of the rear springs. We have made some design changes to help with this problem.
Hmmm..... What's a set of Alcan's usually run?

 Kind of funny cause both those jeeps used to be in my family :p

I wondered about that when we were out there. :D
