Went out with a small group today. Had a lot of fun. Lots of carnage as things were really slippery!! Makes the easy trails tough and the hard trails funner!!

Here's some pics I promised I would post up.

Not a bad day- The snow was very heavy when we made our way up to constrictor, so the shots did not turn out too well, and I put the camera away to do some trail fixin'. :)

Tally-
1 broken tranfer case
1 u-joint change job
1 broken rear driveshaft
1 pitman arm severed
1 valve stem replacement job

Woah, that's a lot of carnage!! Looks like a cold, fun time! Was this a family outing? I'm curious about the Chevy PU that's pulling the wheelie up the double whammy obstacle, what are the specs? Did he break anything?

Some family, more like a bunch of friends outing. The Chev was with another group of 3 and we kinda blended together. He really gave it hell there!!! Iy was actually a Blazer- Dana 60 front 14 Bolt rear ARB's etc.... The whole rig worked really well. I was glad I caught him doing the wheelie as I missed a couple of the others. The Blazer did not break anything as far as I know, but you can see in the pics where he smashed a headlight and ripped the fender out coming back down this. A lot of those guys spent the night out there, and I headed for my warm bed at 7:30. I am waiting for the "Hey could you bring us (insert part here)" phone call.

I think it may be time to upgrade the signs.

Yeah I was really dissapointed at the number of go-arounds since my last outing . I would love to be in on helping to fix this.

I would love to plan a R & R outing for the Snake trails. Many members of RME were very involved with developing these trails, we ought to take it to the next level. Perhaps we ought to get with the BLM and see if they have any ideas for improving the area.

My thoughts:

- Clean up any trash out on the trails.

- Create a dedicated staging/parking area. (Mabey outline the area with RR ties or something?)

- Have trash containers at the staging area.

- Have a sign, info & possible maps of the trails, in the staging area.

- Close off any bypasses.

- Add a winch anchor above the waterfall on Constrictor.

I'd say since winter is here, we should take the time planning it and get this done around spring, when it warms up.

Sorry to hijack your thread Corey. :D
