snowblower: tracks or tires?

Last winter we found that we preferred a snowblower to the plow jeep at the cabin, elev 8000'.

The plow jeep, in spite of chained up 33" tires and a rear locker, was constantly getting stuck (it's been ok previous winters, but last winter gave us the whammy).

The one thing I didn't like about the snowblower is that the tires would dig in and I'd have to manhandle the blower to keep going. I am considering getting one with tracks, and wondered what the advice would be from the collective here.

Tracks or Tires?

Thanks,
Brett

Mine is a four tire, skid steer model. No complaints. It will dig through roughly 24" deep snow, and can toss it far enough to clear my 30 foot wide driveway.

The track systems tend to get rusted up pretty bad if they are not maintained well. Be sure to get it cleaned and lubed every month or so just to keep this from happening, other than that they are great, especially if you have a sloped driveway.

I always liked my track driven one over the tire driven ones, Tracks have more surface area, the tire driven ones tend to dig holes when up against some of the heavier snow. I vote tracks.
