What? You have shocks on the buggy now? AWESOME!!! :D

No shocks yet, or winches for that matter, but I am building it at full compression. It's uber-lowrider, I've managed to get it to sit so low that top of the front tires are about 2" above the top of the hood. Build thread on the way, within' a week or two probably.

The real question is which Hole in the Rock? The road or the trail, they are entirely different and while one is passable to a stock 4x4 (ie a Suburban) the other is not and to get through 'cleanly' will require 31's/33's and some decent clearance and breakover.

Likewise with the Swell, where? Are we talking Buckhorn Wash which when dry is 2WD or Devil's Racetrack or Eagle Canyon which again are in the 33" and decent clearance category for clean travels.

Sami touches on a great point: long wheel base for practical purposes lessens clearance

Yup. My 155" wheelbase F250 has about 22" under the nice, flat belly, and rides on 315/75/16 BFG Mudders.........but the length of the beast limits it more than any other factor. Quite often I am stopped not only by the HUGE turning radius, but by the horrible breakover angle that will leave me high-centered while my brother's bone stock 4x4 '04 Ranger walks right over the the problem area with his shorter wheelbase.
