If I remember right a couple years back they were running cane creek and got caught in a flash flood. they all made it to higher ground but the Jeep got left. I think I heard the jeep was brand new and this was the first trip.

Memorial Day weekend 2 years ago, some of us were down there when it happened and as luck would have it that day we were deciding between Metal Masher and Kane Creek, we were on Metal Masher at the time this happened. I believe the story was that the two Jeeps stopped in the creek bed to work on the other Jeep or have lunch and the flash flood came through taking both Jeeps over. The weather was giving warning signs everywhere that day though.

I believe this is correct. We were down the week after Memorial Day and happened upon this. To see the amount of damage to a newer Jeep was unreal.

That pic is a reminder to stay off the trail when there are storms in the area- even when they are far up-stream. Things can change real fast- they were lucky no one was hurt.

Pucker factor for sure. I think the hill climb after the atv trail was the scariest part for me, I don't like off camber stuff while looking down the side of a revine.
Did you see the old wheelies at the botom?

Great trail. It seems like every time I'm on it the trail changes Obstacles that were hard I go right by and others I didn't notice provide a challenge.

Are you talking about where you can look down to the left and see the ATV trail and bridge as seen below? I felt there were other parts of the trail that raised my hair more than that spot, but if my rig were taller it may feel different.

did you make it up that step in the first pic? we were down there the first of june, and that thing is huge now! we haven't run that trail for a few years, and it has for sure washed out. i was close, but couldn't get quite enough momentum to get up over the hump in my TJ. in fact no one in our group could. and we are all pretty built, locked front and rear and 35's plus.

I attempted it, as I will try about anything that I can get my bumper up and doesn't look too tipsy, but ended up going just to the left where my buddies were standing. I have the wheelbase, but being open just doesn't get you up it. Next time I will be locked though and should be fine.

the wheelbase isn't what was killing us. well it was i guess. but it was just too big. draggin belly and getting hung up on it. it would be much worse in your grand. esp since you say you are low.

I think he's referring to me not making it up that step but if we through a rock or two down we could of made it.

I have seen more things break when others have stacked rocks than any other time, the rock kicks out and the wheel catches solid ground and snap! Also have seen a drive shaft and axle shaft suffer as well. Most trails have a way around the harder obstacles, I would rather go around than stack rocks in an effort to have bragging rights.
