So who's the genius at Loctite?

I went to grab a new tube of Loctite at the store yesterday and almost grabbed the wrong one. Some brain donor decided it would be a good idea to sell the blue Loctite in a red tube - right next to the red Loctite in a red tube.

I hope they didn't actually change the color of the blue, or people are going to screw up and be pissed.

permatex uses blue bottles and loctite uses red bottles.

When I need blue strength, I get permatex, and when I need red strength I get loctite. Works for me. :D

So I just got back from picking up bolts at South Fork, and I checked in to see if they had a new shipment or the old ones because I was going to snag a grundle if they were still the right colors. They aren't. Not only was the blue stuff in a red tube, the red stuff is in a blue tube.

The mind wobbles.

I have always wondered what the hell there thought process was behind that.... Putting red in a blue container, and vice versa...

Just seems so much easier to put them in there own colored bottles

Sounds like somebody in your company gets free trips to Hawaii or something in exchange for allowing the gouging. This type of stuff seems to go on everywhere. It truly boggles the mind how much out guys pay for stuff sometimes, then they turn around and ask us to cut somewhere.

Don't buy bolts from South Fork unless there is absolutely no other option. If it's during 'normal' business hours, Bolt and Nut Supply gets my money. (and a lot less of that money than if I bought the same bolts from South Fork...)

Is it as bad as Lowes or Home Depot?

Interesting, after looking on Google your right, red can come in a blue bottle and sometimes blue in a red bottle. I use there gel, which comes in a blue tube with a blue strip for blue, and a blue tube with a red strip for red. interesting... like this... lol

Where is Bolt and Nut supply?

Probably worse, but Lowes and Home Depot aren't 4 blocks from my house, and I don't mind paying a little extra to shop local and save time.

Hasn't the blue stuff always been in red tubes? I've been using LocTite forever and its always been blue in red. I swear.

I haven't had blue in a while, but my current bottle of red is in a red tube. The red stuff I saw on the shelf was in a blue tube. I might have to switch to Permatex in self defence. :)
