I am installing a High Steer on my jeep Yj. I am going to put the "Stock" drag link and tie rod assy on the High steer plates. My question is, if I leave the drag link and the tie rod connected (not both attached to the knuckle) will it work? I think it should but I need expert advice.

So you're saying that your Drag Link will connect to the Tie Rod (Stock YJ steering), not the knuckle, correct?

It should be just fine for now, but stock parts aren't known for their strenght. I'd plan on upgrading your Drag Link, Tie Rod & TRE's not too far down the road.

Who's High Steer arms are you running?

I am actually getting them from Rocky Mt Axle. Charles there is a really good guy. He also set up my front 44 with the flat top knuckles 2 months ago. I was in denial that I need the high steer until I actually did the swap and I cannot turn to the right

I look at the way I explained my problem and it is even hard for me to understand so here I go again. I am planning on installing the high steer plates on top of the flat top knuckles. I am going to hook up the tie rod drag link assy onto the high steer plates. I am then going to hook the pitman arm assy to the drag link rather than the knuckle. Will this work? The previous setup was like this with the axle on top of the spring so I figure it will be just like the stock assy. Does this sound right?

Are the new arms set up to accept the drag link seperately? (Two holes on the passenger side?) I have a YJ with the chevy TRE's and the pitman arm link ties into the tie rod. It works fine, but I would like to flat top the knuckles and use plates to make the pitman link attach to the knuckle seperately. I know it's a crummy picture, all I could find.

Yeah that pic about sums it up. The drag ling and the tie rod will attach together rather than at the knuckle. Nice coil spring conversion!
