someone said they were looking for another rescue operation

In all seriousness I thought the last rescue thread was one of the best I have read on RME in a while. Really cool to see everyone involved come together in short notice and work together to help a stranger in need. How much cooler would this world be if there were more moments like that?

haha, I actually just got an email from Gary at the FS thanking us for what we do. I told him that if he would like help extracting the helicopter pieces we'd be happy to help. :D

I would really like to know where this is really at. It would be fun to go see. Do you think they will leave it up there, or is someone really going to go get it out?

According to the picture captions it's near Lake Hardy, which is in the Lone Peak Wilderness Area. I'm surprised SUWA and Save Our Canyon's hasn't issued a condemnation of the rescue helicopters landing in the wilderness area, because thats prohibited.

Darn, I was going to hike up there this weekend. Now it's going to be packed. I hope they leave the pieces there so we can see them.

They will most likely air lift the wreckage to be able to investigate for possible failures, though I'm sure it will come down to pilot error
