anybody going out to the salt flats this weekend? the weather looks great. no wind. and loads of great fast cars.

two more hours and im on my way.

I missed it, for the 12th year in a row. That's almost unbeleivable to me. This year its the kids birthday trip. Last year it was %$#@!&!#@ Afghanistan. Argh.

they will be running till saturday maybe even sunday if anybody is still there to run. you havnt missed it yet.

we had a spot down at the 4.5 mile mark of the long course, down past the end of the pits. closer to the track than last years 1.5 mile spot. cars at top speed running past us. the sound of the cars running wide open at 300+ mph is incredible.

we have a video some place, you cant see much of the car but you can sure hear it. ill try to find it.

I didn't realize it was in wendover until I got there. Drove from great basin NP to wendover and planned on spending the night. Boy was I wrong, couldn't find a single hotel room. Ended up going all the way home. Man the old rat rods were awesome though.

If you miss this one, you can always catch next month's event. The dates are Sept 15 -18, if I remember right. Not quite as large of turn out as Speedweek, but still a blast to watch.
