squeak... squeak... squeak... squeak

I had a similar issue in Moab with my YJ recently. Turns out it was a busted bearing cap (I think I used the term right, holds the carrier in place) in the rear axle. It's a wonder it didn't come apart on the hwy :)

Im really a novice at drivelines/gears/diffs. What would be the best way of checking to see what the problem is? Some additional info: The squeak is only there with throttle, but is not proportional to the amount of throttle. So sometimes at lower RPMS its a greater squeak.

I've had this problem a few times on my sami. It has always been a u-joint. I should probably address the angles or something, but u-joints are easy to change :D

I have tried WD-40'ing the whole thing to see if that would even quiet it down, but nothing. Yet when i wash the jeep it gets quiet for a little bit? I am so confused at what it could be

WD-40 isn't likely to help. It's probably inside the u joint cap where the squeaking originates. I searched and searched to find mine. I felt no play or clunking, I changed the joint just to experiment and that was it. As I mentioned before I have had it happen a couple more times as well.
