Of course I did! :D
Where I turned around was N40°34.635' and W111°34.575' and 9127 elevation.
How do I insert an excel file of my track?

That shows you ending at the end of a "jeep" trail next to a couple of mine shafts?

email the tracklog to me if you could...

Pretty sure that is Brighton (Lake Catherine, Martha, Mary, and Dog)
Anyone concur?

According to the GPS program, that is correct. Don't forget about twin lakes :) I think that's the big one off to the left and down lower?

i have no idea between the two i have never been up to either so... i was going by what others were saying .i'm sure it will get figured out soon enough

Me neither.. Well, I take that back, not in the last 15 years anyway! :p
I just know where you guys ended and according to maps this is where you were at... I still wish that road went through though! You're sure it doesn't? I've been up to the top of mineral basin, and there was a road off to the right that went over the ridge. Maybe it ends too... I was hoping they connected :(

Mineshafts? I didn't see any... But yeah, close to the end of a jeep trail.... I think Badger was at the end of it. I was with someone that at 3pm informed me he had a dinner date at 530 back in Sandy so we turned around.

Short notice, but I'm thinking about heading up there again today after work. around 6:30 ish. It will make for a quick trip, but should be fun.

Great pics guys. :)

We were thinking of running this trail this weekend. How does it rate in difficulty? A couple of people are running stock vehicles and are a little hesitant to go in "uncharted territory". It sounds like a really fun trail.

Most stock vehicles should have no problems up to the point I made it. Not sure what is beyond that though.

Some of the switchbacks are tight, requiring some technical turning... or if you're boring, 8 points turns. :p

another shot of it

were the red line stops is were the mine is with the big Cat motor.the trail up to Pioneer peak is tight and twisty.you can go so far then i would have to say if you aren't by yourself don't lead a train of cars up there or you will have some fun backing all the way back down.there is no place to turn several rigs around.there are some meadows to stop at and look around but at the top of the trail there is just enough space for one rig to do the shuffle :D

So technically, trails permitting, you can drive right down into Brighton and out into Salt Lake. That's pretty cool. It's not really that long of a drive either.

if you guys want to head up to were me and Meat went then i would say you can all head up to this one meadow

it is right around this turn

there is plenty of space there.after that you would have to make single runs to the top

It looks like Meat and Badger went up where we did. We didn't go as far as they did though, otherwise that boulder would have already been moved :D

But you sure that's Snowbird? I don't know where Snowbird is, so I'm not sure. But GPS program shows you right between Alta and Brighton. But that road ends, eh? I was hoping that it would have continued because the next canyon over is Mineral Basin. That would be a cool drive...Start at Provo Canyon and make a loop through American Fork Canyon!!!

EDIT: Found Snowbird! :D It's down the canyon from Alta, so you can't see it.... We were on the backside of either Brighton or Alta, in between actually, and I think you had a better view of Alta, IMO.

I have no idea where you were, but we were above SnowBird ;). Later tonight I can post up some topo captures.

Alta is on the west of Mineral Basin not east.

We actualy parked at Tibble Fork and drove over Poleline Pass. (FYI that road is under construction and "closed" )

Also, when Herzog said they were tight switch backs he meant they were TIGHT switch backs, between that and some narrow stretches the trail is defiantly not for the faint of hart.

I have to disagree.... I know where you guys turned around, and according to a map, you ended up right between Alta and Brighton, looking down on Dog lake, and etc. Snowbird is about 1 mile down the canyon from Alta, and you were about a mile from Alta. You guys ended up near Pioneer Peak.

Here's where you guys were at (sort of)
N40°34.696' and W111°34.958'

And Snowbird is here
N40°35.178' and W111°42.770'

And Alta is here
N40°34.783' and W111°38.247'

And Brighton is here
N40°35.950' and W111°34.835'

Email me @ info@alljeep.com and I'll send you a regional GPS map with those waypoints highlighted.
