I was expecting to come back from drill today and see a new build thread 3 pages deep already. Sadly nothing :D

I left at about 2, but by then we had pulled both back axles and put one back into the 4-door

We were really making progress and when I left he had 4 people helping. I'm guessing that he/they finished the axles and decided to swap the thirds as well, or he just decided to kick back.

It is a sweet rig, zero rust. He's really happy about it.

Haha, you guys crack me up. It was a long day, wrenching from 10 am to 1130 pm. I'm beat. I did manage to take the time to snap a few pics. A huge thanks to everyone who helped today. Kyle put in at least 10 hours. I'm beat. I'll get a build.thread started tomorrow. It'll be on page 3 by midnight, with about 45 posts about how they can't believe I bought another rig. :)

We've already done that, but you can expect 60 posts of speculation on what your next rig is going to be. :D

The only Toyota I haven't owned now is an 80 series (zero interest in those) a 2nd Gen taco, and a tundra. But i agree. I wonder how many beta have been made around me keeping a vehicle. I know of 3 so far.

Ok, I'll bite, why not an 80? If I were in the market for a Cruiser, I'd be thinking hard about an 80.

I dunno, 80s have zero appeal to me. I like em, but I would never want.to own one. Solid axle (overkill for what I do, bit.they are my favorite axles), horrid MPG (11-13), not a ton of power (which o don't usually care about, bit if I'm going.to get 12 MPG I might as.well have fun). Aftermarket is super expensive as is the initial purchase price. Plus there is no truck bed and no tailgate.

There is no doubt they're extremely overbuilt, dead reliable, sexy looking, super capable, proven in the deserts of the world, and you can fit 35s with little lift.

I don't mean to bag on the 80 series, I think they're cool. I just know I wouldn't keep one for more than 3 months.
