Ok, I think that will work. If you've got room for me on a trailer (and two seats in the car), I'm there. We had such a blast last time that my wife wants to come again. We'll be camping in a tent. This stupid truck has sucked my bank account dry and then some.

I feel like a rock star. I went down to drop off my driveline and I ran into a fellow RME'er (sorry I forgot your username but I do know you drive a white xj on 33's.), and he recognized me from this thread. Whoever you are, thanks for saying hi, it was nice to meet you.

You are a rock star! Almost 10,000 views on this thread. I hope your truck lives up to all the hype! I am sure it will.:)

Thanks James. I'm starting to get scared now, people are going to expect me to know how to drive it  I just expect it to be able to pull out of the driveway under its own power.

Seats came today:

It looks like they have a wicked lumbar support, but that's just the way the cloth sits, the foam is about 2" behind that bulge.

I sat in them for a bit, and they seem Ok, but nothing special. I think my Celica seats are going to be more comfy. What's the deal with the suspension seats? What do they have that my celica seats don't? Which would you run? I like that the celica seats recline (or at least change the angle), and they have a tilt adjustment. WHat makes a suspension seat so desirable? Maybe I'm missing something that I can't tell from the first 5 minutes of sitting in them.

Well, I got a little more done tonight. It sure doesn't look like much from the pics, but it feels like I got a lot done.

Finished connecting the brakes.

I made the brackets for my gas tank:

kinda hard to see.

I took a flap disc to the surface rust on the back of the frame. It got a little dusty. You can hardly see my truck in there. That's what I get for grinding at 11 PM, I've gotta shut the garage so I don't disturb the neighbors.

Painted part of my frame and my new gas tank brackets.

And now I'm waiting for it to dry. Gas tank should be installed tomorrow, I just need 6 bolts. It looks like it'll clear the driveshaft just fine.

Got my driveshaft back, it looks perfect. I've just gotta add my triple-drilled flanges to my t-case. Like an idiot I ordered the ones without the dust shield. I wonder if it makes a difference.

I know nobody cares, but here's the list of what's left. It helps me stay motivated and helps me come up with a plan for the upcoming days.

Mechanical
- IFS Box mount - done
- Steering Shaft Lengthened - done
- Hydro-assist
- PS pump mountend - done (minus one fitting being connected)
- Install twin-stick & triple-drilled flanges

Exterior
- build gas tank mounts - done
- new bed mounts
- Brakes - manual prop valve and extended lines - done
- Fix and re-torque pass-side hub - done
- shorten rear DS
- get front DS done (take measurements with it flexed out)
- New Exhaust
- fix the fuses I smashed with a hammer
- new windshield
- Shocks and shock mounts
- extend fuel lines to reach the new fuel tank location
- herculine the underside of the tunnel

Interior
- clearance horseshoe collar - done
- tranny/tcase flat belly mount - done
- Tranny tunnel install - done
- Replace back of cab - done
- Floor Install - done
- Seat install - 1% done. Ordered the seats today
- Fender Tub - done
- Put Dash back together
- Install heater lines

Not absolute necessities
- Figure out how to hook up ebrake (not a priority before 9/10/10), possibly add taco rear drums
- bed bob
- modify carb to run at steep angles.

fluids:
- trany
- t-cases
- Gas
- Radiator/Heater
- Brake (bleed)
- Steering (bleed)
- front diff
- check rear diff
- check oil level

My goal is to have it able to drive out my driveway on Saturday. It won't have seats or a bed by then, but my goal is to have it move under its own power. I've got an appointment at Rick's muffler a week from tomorrow, and I'll have to drive it there, so it's gotta be driving and pretty street legal by then.

Oh, and I'll be wrenching most of labor day too if anyone wants to stop by and hang out. I'll probably be mounting my bed, bobbing it, mounting the seats, and herculining the rest of the interior. Nothing too exciting, unless you're me, then it's very exciting.

I also took Wed, the 8th off, and Friday the 10th, because I"m sure there will be all sorts of little things I missed.

I know what you mean. I think people really like the side bolsters for side-hills. I can see them being a lot more comfortable than a cheap seat, but I think my celica seats are pretty nice. I also think the elastic bands on the bottom make them awesome for fast-moving vehicels like sandrails and baja trucks.

I'll give 'em a shot and see how I like 'em.
