^Pretty much....

When I used to landscape I used to park a running mower with a steel catch bask on it over the hole. The vibrations would make them come out of the hole. After that they would either get taken out by the blades or get killed when they smacked the wire basket as they got shot out at mach speed.

That's hilarious. So far I have tried bug spray, drowning the hole for an hour, a.d last attempt was lighting diesel fuel that burned over an hour and got so hot it was burning blue flames...all futal attempts.

If the bee was designed to live in the ground, I doubt it would care about water.... since they've been rained on for like a million years and junk.

Got a torch? Acetylene does crazy things underground... the gas will settle, pump the holes full and light it up. Just stand back. Can you say stinging fire bees?

I don't know that this will work on ground bees, but it sure sounds fun.

UNSTUCK

But stuck more often.
I stood next to mine with a few cans of carb cleaner. It was like a machine gun as they all came flying out. Instant death. Just kept spraying until no more flew out. After that I filled in the hole they were flying out of and never had a problem again. I think I used three cans of carb cleaner.

i don't know how lethal ether (starter fluid) is to bees, but it is super deadly to ants. and it is super flammable, so it could be fun either way.

I really want to be there when you do this.

Give or take 50 yards.

lol, the carb cleaner does sound like fun. Anyway, the water issue is not true, ground bees actually can't stand water. At least according to the bee friendly expert internet boards. I'd ask them but they are all about humane treatment of the bees which after they nailed my huskie a few dozen times and my 20 month old Granddaughter I really can give a rats butt about being humane.
