Is that how you read it? That's not the way I see it, and it's me you have to get it by. ;)

so what does stock suspension configuration mean to you boss?
almost seems like there is no need for the rule if you can trade ifs for solid axle with 3 link and pan hard..

maybe you could give an example of a suspension type that is against the rules to make it clear me since i obviously read it wrong..

ps coco im not saying you shouldn't compete! i just was un aware of how much you could change the suspension and still compete in that class.

sounds like your runner is a great candidate

This was a compromise made primarily for the Toyotas, but it does apply to all makes. Example, the 85 and 87 trucks are identical in every way except the IFS. There is no real way for Tech
to differentiate between the two unless we did something like requiring a current registration to validate the year, and I don’t think anyone wants to deal with that. So the solution was to let
all first gen Toy’s run in stock class regardless of front axle style.

The suspension type rule still applies (I.e. leafs). Since a Toyota was never offered with a linked solid axle, it can’t run in stock. I’ve never Tech’d a linked rig (other than Jeep)that qualified
for stock in all other ways, but we can address that if such a rig shows up at Tech.

The 10 point penalty comes into play with the second generation of trucks. They’re visibly a whole different truck that was only available with IFS. The SAS on these trucks is a very popular
mod, and I don’t think it’s fair to move the later models up a class for a simple solid axle change. I do however feel they have a better drivetrain in some cases, so a penalty helps keeps things
fair with the older trucks.

Anyway, I hope this clears up some confusion.

going ups rig is linked in the front.. thats why i posted what i did .. and you told me i was wrong..

LOL thank James for the support haha.

The only thing I am worried about is rolling it, or causing serious damage to something.

I am considering it, we will see :D

But yes, I have a 3rd gen 4runner that is 3 linked front and rear (rear was linked with coils from factory) and the front has been SAS'd with 3 link front, and coils.

Everyone who shows up can compete, assuming the truck is safe, it just may not be in the class they desire.

Given the truck in question is SAS'd and linked, it would likely go into the legends class with similar trucks.

You implied that he can't run stock without the IFS. That is not the case and maybe we need to clarify that better.

Hmmm. I may consider entering the street class sometime and just want some clarification. I did read through the rules and it seems like i will take a penalty for having coils in the rear. The other question i have is about the 6 point cage. Does a stock YJ cage count since it has the rear mount, center hoop, and front mounted to the windshield? I posted a pic of my rig below, anything else that would keep me from the street class?

Wheelbase is 96 so its within the +/- 3" range.

Thanks! More incentive now to get ram assist and then maybe enter. Never been to an event like this before, much less competed so it would be a whole new experience.

Looks like your YJ is within the rules, the stock cage is good as well as the wheelbase. Looks like a nice rig.

It's worth going even if you don't compete yet. You can always come down and get a feel for things then compete next year. But I think you should enter Brian. You're YJ would have a good chance,
