Stub Shaft

I was just wondering if anyone could tell me if a stock stub shaft, driver side, off of an 89 YJ would be the same as one off of a Cherokee. My neighbor is looking for a couple of them.

Yes. All stub shafts from a YJ/TJ/XJ D30 are interchangeable.

I think you better look again I have an 88 yj and there were two different size ujoints, 30 with disconnect.

In 95 the YJ went from the Spicer 270 u-joint to the 297 (now the 760). I don't know about the Cherokees.

Holy crap, you guys are right. I completely forgot about the different u-joint sizes, I was only thinking about length. Most YJs have the 260x u-joint, but some with ABS have 297x - mine did. '95 they should have 297x, as will all TJs. I don't know about Cherokees though. Sorry about the mis-information...

its the same with cherokees 95+ have 297 and if they had abs before that then they had 297s too. otherwise its 260
