Yes Jack, I think the ZJ is one of the best looking 4x4s...

Hey Gertsch, tell us more of the aluminum armor. And PM me what you did about the AW4 into the ZJ. I'm giving thought to 5 speed swap if the 42RE croaks.

The AW4 is an automatic, the AX15 is a manual. I thought about doing the swap, but for what I use the Jeep for an auto is better. Several good write-ups over on mall crawlin.

Yes, I know. Wiring the AW4 to keep the Check Engine Light off, and make the NSS work properly, should be the same or similar for the AX15, or NV3500. Now, If I could afford a 6 speed... But good to acquire knowledge and parts now.

headers are a headache. They just loosen up and leak. I even installed the fancy stage 8 locking bolts and they still blow out gaskets.

Well I built all the armour for me jeep. I didn't design the front but I did build it. But I want to save wait and everyone seems to be headed toward aluminum armor. So I figure I might as well since come January 1st ill be jobless and need to set apart myself front the rest if the pack. Plus saving weight is great when you have an inline 6. If if there is something you like about certain bumpers or slider let me know so I can build it towards demand. But it also depends on my tig welding skills and getting a gun for the mig to do aluminum.

IMO Aluminum looks great and saves tons of weight but doesn't hold up very well from my experience

I did some bumpers and a buddy did sliders and they got really beat up and or replaced. Looked great cost lots more and don't last
Guess it depends on if you are mall crawling or rock crawling. Once again IMO

I run still armor right now. If you build it right aluminum can be just as good as steel. Heck fiberglass worked pretty well for oh Iceland Offroad.
