Super Duty axles use different diff covers at minimum. They also have different axle seals, but I'm not 100% sure you can't use the older-style seal in the newer housing.

the old style seal fits in the new housings. Also the old style cover will bolt on the superduty housing it just stick out further and sometimes interferes with tie rod clearance.
