Suwa and backcountry.com

I read that thread and don't want to rehash it again, but I don't think we need to tip toe around with businesses that proudly support SUWA. Investigation is key but If a company is going to support them let them be proud of it and put them on a list. I don't plan every single stop on my trips so it would be nice to know or check if a place I happen to be at were supporting them.

That's why I have two lists. I think the effort should be placed on businesses that support us, but it's also good to know of the businesses that proudly support SUWA. However, I don't think the emphasis should be placed on the blacklist.

Agreed, but in a pinch it's nice to know who not to work with at all. Thanks again, please post up when the list is back up and running.

I worked REALLY hard to get backcountry.com to pull their support! They finally said they never had an official relationship and don't continue to donate, but wouldn't make SUWA take them off their website. I feel a little sense of victory hearing they're finally off.

I looked for your thread to give you credit but I couldn't find it.

Here is the whole story, starting on page 2.

It also looks like all their $5,000+ supporters have dropped support completely or reduced it to less than $5,000.

I'd upload the image of their website showing their supporters about a year ago, but I can't attach it because I've already attached the file once on an other thread. It is kind of interesting to compare current support to support a year ago.
