Alright, playing around a little and I came up with this panel, tell me what I am missing. I will be having this CNC'd, but dont know what material yet (gimme suggestions) I dont really want to do aluminum because I will be mounting it in an aluminum dash, but I do have half a sheet of aluminum so that would be free...hmmm

the blue dots will be LEDs that will be lit when the corresponding switch is on and has power.

If you've already got an alum dash, what about doing it out of 16 ga sheetmetal and just painting it some color of choice? In your case, white or black, or whatever accent color you are using? I did a similar switch panel using LED indicators. I ordered the LEDs from a place called the lighthouse in Colo I think. Also Del City has LED's but only in a few colors. Make sure you get the super bright LED's if you don't they are hard to see in the daylight/glare. Also the switches will need to be DPST to turn on the LED's.

Yeah, I have priced everything from Del City right now and Its all under $20 for everything...but like you said they only have red LEDs...I would rather get blue...I'm still searching for those...does Lighthouse have a web page?

I meant a fuel pump OFF switch. Smart of you to wire it into the ignition harness like that... duuuurrrrrrr..

just kidding. Yeah, a kill switch might be handy, you know? Or not.

Personally I like that simple look. That's gonna look good w/the blue lights in there. I'd paint it flat black, hell it would still even match.

actually I didn't wire anything, thats why I mentioned its a Painless kit. I dont see a need for an additional switch for it though, the ign switch will already kill all power to it along with a battery shut off switch which will kill power to EVERYTHING...adding an additional kill switch is just a little too redundant ;)

I might, in the future, add a tethered kill switch like they require in comps so it can be pulled by someone outside the vehicle incase of an emergency.

I think I started needing 4 or 5 in my Jeep, so I installed 10 in a similar set up. After a few years of wheeling, all 10 were in use when I sold it. Think about some day having E or air lockers, on board air, and such and those switches will be used in a hurry. Dont skimp on switches. They're cheap, and if you dont use them, you're packing trail spares right?

Ah, missed the part w/the battery cutoff. Yes, another kill switch is a bit much! Tethered switches are a decent idea, you never know.

I didn;t think about locakers...yes I hope to be running the eatons sometime in the future so thats a good one. When I setup our boats it was the same way, I would always get pannels that would have 5-6 extra switches and by the end of the season, generaly, they were all used up.
