Tacoma 63" chevy leaf spring swap

My trucks leafs are pretty shot and the last couple trips they have really beat me up. I have been reading into the many many many leaf spring options out there, and it seems like nobody is totally happy. The most promising looks like swapping in 63" chevy springs.

I'm curious why more people don't do the swap. What are the drawbacks besides the fabrication? My truck is used mostly for family camping or week long travel so I haul a ton of gear. The end goal for this truck is a family hauler that can haul ass while out in the dirt all without rattling my girls to death.

Input? Suggestions? Comments?

OME has definitely been a runner up in my decision making. I figured the chevy leafs would offer more travel/flex. Also practically every long term report claims the Dakar springs sag

I had chevy 63's on a 85 4runner I liked them a lot, minus I had to run 10 inch shackles to get the lift I needed.

On my 2004 double cab Tacoma I ran all-pro 3 inch non-expo leafs: Unloaded they rode great, but the rear was higher then front, Loaded went flat and would almost ride on the bump stops.

Any reason you didn't put them on your tacoma? Any reason I shouldn't put them under mine? I'm after only 3" of lift so I think I'd be at about a 5" shackle.

I would have but wanted bolt on parts because of the low miles and value of the truck. I tend to go through cars quick to normal people, but compared to the Rme folks i am better than average.
