TBI speed sensor source

I need to find a source of a 2 pulse per revolution speed sensor for the TBI in my Commando. I have found them on line but before I order an expensive one I wanted to find out if anyone knew of a vehicle they came on that I could look for in the yards. I could wire up a circuit to divide down the one I have on there now (8 pulses/rev) for the aftermarket speedometer but I don't want to possibly mess up the gauge. At first I thought the sensor in the 88 suburban's speedometer was just for the cruise control so I left it out and now I get error code 24. In the short term I may route a speedo cable in and mount the burb speedo and sensor under the dash but in the long run I want something cleaner.

Some of the 80s fords had a speed sensor that was in the middle of two Speedo cables. Maybe that would work?

I took the suburban speedometer that I had and took it apart leaving only the optical sensor. Hopefully this will work OK till I find a better solution. I would need to find out if the Ford unit has the correct pulse count but it might work.

i believe the full size blazers in the 80s have that sender

i don't know what is "expensive" to you but speedometer solutions in milwaukee manufactures the inline sender so that you can keep your existing speedo, just tell him the year/make/model of the ecm, and what vehicle you put it in and he can do it, i've used them to supply me these in the past, they work well
