I've been thinking of a TBI swap in the Big Bad Blaze but seems like everyone selling them is asking around $300 used  coming off rigs with 100k+ Am I wrong for thinking thats excessive? Pricing out individual componants new, more perfomance oriented seems to be cheaper in the long run. Has anyone done this and can school me. I was thinking of instead of spending $300 + on a bunch of used parts to just piece by piece buy them new. I'm thinking the only 2 componants worth buying used would be the throttle body and the ECM

whats included with the used stuff? Intake, TB, ECM and injectors? If so there really isn't anything that would be affected by mileage besides maybe the injectors. The TB itself can be rebuilt in about 20 mins and the kit costs about $30 (if I remember correctly). If you want an aftermarket intake then that may be different (no need to spend money twice on the same thing) otherwise I see nothing wrong with going with used stuff. If the wiring harness comes with the used stuff then that can save you quite a bit. A harness will run ya $150-$500...

$300 is cheap, consider it a core motor and the TB system....
Have you price a ecm+core charge, a TB+core? Then add and o2, map, knock, 2 temps, and all the other sensors and modules....way more than $300

Last I checked howell was about $1700-$2000 for a kit. Projection and the rest go way up from there....

If you are building a hot motor, go after market, otherwise buy used and rebuild, you WILL save money.... :D
