I hope thats true, if running the same weekend as UROC wasnt bad enouf we now have longer drive times due to the road going boom!
True... I'm now glad I was already planning on coming up Friday after work, rather than early saturday.
The idiots on the news said they have never seen this much devistation to a hwy before. I yelled at the tv 'what about Thistle'! 30' deep hole compared to 400' deep of mud over the roadway...To top it off, flooding streams filling in the canyon and ruining towns. Yeah, this compares...
They are complaining about it taking 2 days to fix, after Thistle wasn't the hwy closed for about 8 months? I lived in Huntington at the time, and all of our food, gas, etc. came from SLC. Since they had to go through through Duchesne, our prices sky rocketed and availability of items plumeted. It put us through a world of hurt. To make matters worse, at the time we were also have problems with mines caving in and explosions, so we were already hurting from them. Anyway...
It is amazing of what it did, though, and that nobody was killed by it. VERY lucky people!
