That sounds like a great idea.

Looking good Dave. awesome work on the floors, very clean work. what color are you thinking? (just curious) I have always wanted to get a commando...
This is a great build. I've owned 6 different Jeepster Commando's over the years - they are possibly the most under appreciated rigs out there. I'd be thrilled to come help you assemble this.
Have you checked out:

Jones Paint and Glass cut a new windshield for mine. Don't remember what it cost but don't think it was very much.
Chris with precision autoglass. Those guys are/ used to be RME sponsors.
He told me he cuts glass still when he did my YJ windshield last month.... I wish I would have known and I would have used them for my CJ hardtop rear glass.
Yes I have checked this site out looking for ideas. I may need to go back and see if anyone has a windshield to sell...... I slipped with wrench last night when I was re-installing the windshield and tapped the windshield and it cracked I had been so carefull with it and it wasn't much of a tap either. I aslo installed the front CJ clip on it to see what will work best to blend the fenders into the rockers I added and to plan my tube fender flares. It looks like a beast so I can't wait to get it running. It is sitting next to my Scrambler in the garage and even though it sits 4 inches higher at the hood line the roof lines are about the same. I'll have to snap a picture and post it. I also cut into the dash to get the front supports for the roll cage back in place and will now need to come up with a custom dash design. Shawn's old cage went through the dash to give maximum leg room for getting in to the commando. I like how the cage looks and have ripped out the dash cluster and heater controls to allow the cage to go through the dash. I have custom gauges to put back in and also want to re-work the dash a bit to get the GM steering column from my brother's Blazer to fit better.
I have an extra windshield for you. I'd like to check out your 4 link setup. Im debating on linking or leaf'ing the back half of my 4 door.
I don't know why I haven't subscribed sooner!
still want my windshield?
mine is off a 68.... you can come get it anytime... but you have to take the dented, rusted windshield frame with it!
I was told you might have a 35" MTR spare? trade?
Updates please :greg:
Fenders look awesome.
