I was reading some reviews that say the 5100’s are an HD shock and make a rough ride.

And those fox’s Are for a lifted truck

I have fox IFPs on my crew cab duramax. The bounce is real. Fine if I'm pulling a trailer or have 500 lbs in the bed. I personally think that the fox IFPs have worse valving characteristics than the cheap monroe shocks that I pulled off when I installed them. The valving seems to be backwards. Too much compression and not enough rebound.

I'm not happy to hear that because I was leaning towards the IFPs... Maybe I'll just buy MonroeMatics... Or stock Ford shocks... Gasp!

I have Bilstein 5100's on my truck. It still bounces. It is worse when I am alone in the truck vs have a cab full of people or weight in the bed or a trailer in tow.
I talked to my neighbor again last night about the ford damper. He said it only works for a few months then the rubber gets soft and they have had quite a few of them come back bouncing again.

Lets ban Russ from this thread! We don’t need a good influencer!

But it’s really not about preventing it altogether as much as it is trying to prevent additional back injury and neck pain. Slight bounce may be ok, but what we get is unacceptable.

These showed up today. The are supposed to be Gabriel’s highest quality and best performing shocks.
I got some fun upgrades slated to get put on my truck in December, so these won’t get put in until then.. but I’m excited to see if they help at all!

No, I'm stock piling a few new fun gadgets to go on the truck, and one requires that I take the bed off. I've got to get my MIL's engine done (scheduled for next week) Then I can pull my truck in the shop and get to work..

Hurry up man. Pulling an engine should help work the soreness out from Saturday.

Its more commonly known as the long bed hop.

Mine is a l99 crew cab and i did the 2016 spring swap and shackle flip in the back and no change.
Axle swap didnt to anything either but didnt think it would.

It's my understanding the only hope of fixing the issue is to box the frame from the transfer case back to the crossmember.
I figured installing a fifth wheel hitch in the frame would have helped but it didn't.

There is a very lengthy thread on powerstrokes.org about this issue.
