My truck has officially made it into Build status. It’s slated to ship on Feb 17th!! That was way faster than expected.

Now I need to decide what I’m doing with the Tacoma…

I wish I would have known a few weeks ago about you selling the Tacoma but Harrison got a great truck anyway. My new F150's longer bed 6 1/2 versus my old F150 5 1/2' is so much better. I think I could close my tailgate with two bikes in it loaded they way you described. I actually loaded two bikes last Thursday but put them in straight forward and left the tailgate down and it is close that way. I will be loading them on an angle because every bump I hit, the tailgate bounced. It has the auto closing tailgate and it is really light.

Well don’t hold your breath because won’t be that nice for a decade or so.

I’ve contacted AEV and they are basically sold out of EVERYTHING. All the parts they make are earmarked for AEV built rigs

It’s a tough choice for sure. I’ve also been slightly worried about locking in a good loan with low rates and more importantly selling my Tacoma before the used market collapses.

I read a news story today that showed the Tacoma was one of the most over priced used vehicles right now.

2016 Tacoma TRD Offroad CCSB in super white. I got EVERY option available when I ordered it brand new. It’s currently sitting in bone stock configuration with zero issues.

Yes and that’s probably the way I’m going to end up going. I could get a couple grand more private party, but I don’t want to finance the full amount of the ram while waiting to sell the Taco

This. For the first time ever I bet the tax advantages out-weigh the ability to sell privately for more. I always look into it when I purchase vehicles and it’s never even been close but things are nuts right now 🤷🏼‍♂️

The tax advantage will be something like $2500. Most of the “sight unseen” offers for my truck average $31k, so that’s equivalent to $33.5k total trade in value. The private listings online for my truck vary between $30k-$40k.

Like I said, I’ll sell it here for my trade in value just so I don’t have to deal with KSL dummies.

As most of you know the Tacoma is officially gone now. since I’m sitting here without a truck, I figured I’d post a few pictures of her from over the years.

The good news is that Powerwagon is in the SLC rail yard! They think I might have it on Tuesday!

I snagged a set of AEV Highmark fenders off of KSL today.

Then this happened…😁

I’ve been really happy with all the AEV stuff I’ve had. My LJ has the TJ Highline kit, AEV wheels and Nth/AEV progressive springs. All except the rear springs have over 100k on them and still nice. Replaced the rear springs with the same ones at about 80k.

Put RT dual sport on Cindy’s JLU. Installed JK version of the same kit on a friend’s JKU. They both ride way good.
