Is it just me or is the news more depressing tonight than usual? An old man was hit and killed while crossing the road in his wheelchair, a teacher was hit and killed while running to work, bronze statues stolen for a bit of scrap money, then I decided I had enough and switched the tv to another channel.

seems like that is all the news ever is anymore. I use to watch the news everyday before I went to work in WA, thats all they would talk about was people being killed, way depressing. Its like the only thing that they think is news worthy is the depressing stuff.

Two words to make you Happy Happy Happy. Those two words are Duck Dynasty. Uncle Si will bring a smile to your face
can't go wrong with Uncle Si, all you have to do is just look at him, I would be watching the new episode right now if I wasn't doing home work, but I know if I turn it on, then home work will not get done.

The teacher that was hit and killed was my basketball coach and a good friend of mine's uncle. Great guy, super sad indeed.

150k people die every minute. Entire societies collapse every 200 yrs. It's much tougher for me to date high school chicks these days.

Since this thread is already partially hijacked...:)

Is there anyone here that has been duck hunting for more than 10 or 15 years and can tell us if Duck Commander calls are really superior to other brands? Are they the Warn of winches? :p

Well at least you did the right thing and turned the TV off. Most people just compain about whats on TV and never realize that they don't HAVE to watch it. Personally, I haven't watched TV news for the better half of a decade other than it being on in the background at someones house. And I avoid US news sources when it comes to domestic news like the plauge because its all too focused on the negative and too partisan. This is why we have the internets.
As for current television related entertainment, watching rednecks has never appealed to me. This is also why I hate NASCAR. Instead I choose to watch Magnum PI (a seminal classic) while sipping whiskey. Formula 1 while sipping wine (red or white, depending on the weather). Downton Abby with a nice glass of brandy or port. The Walking Dead while drinking home brewed beer. And Avatar: The Last Air Bender/Legend of Korra while sipping Verners Ginger Ale and possibly munching kettle corn. (Yeah, its a kids show. Go a head, judge me.). I like to think my entertainment choices make me a well rounded, refined individual; but I'm sure Tacoma will just call me a snob. :D

You guys are too young to be crotchety but smart enough to know there are some things you can affect but few you can change. You can only change yourself and how you look at things.
